Importance of the Project and the Motives

The city of Taiz is considered the most war-affected city due to the siege, intensive shelling and the denial of access to medicines and medical supplies, which caused to the rise in the number of paralyzed victims to reach more than 400 cases, most cases of the paralysis cases in four years, at the beginning of 2014 till the end of 2017, this category is considered of the neglected categories by all concerned authorities, whether health or social categories, so their  bed confinement prolonged and as of their injury, which made them victims of eternal paralysis, which caused their skin and bodies to rotten and being infected with bed ulcers, most of these wounded families are very poor can't provide their daily livelihood, so how they can bear the costs related to the wounded and bear all the requirements of medications, diapers and good nutrition to help his weak body to resist each of  the sickness and paralysis, and as being aware of the responsibility and the suffering of this category of wounded and the increasing number of people affected by the war and its aftermath, we pledged  to open a small project to contribute to alleviating the pain of this category and to go to their residence places and feel their suffering, and we thank God for His support for receiving more than 40 Cases during 2017, including 15 cases suffering from bed ulcers and we did the needed for them as per the available capabilities.

Project Commencement

The project commenced on 2/3/2017.

Where the first case of bed ulcers that had been disabled as a result of the war was received in the Taiz city where at the first phase 8 cases were treated as a preliminary stage through an integrated medical team consists of a doctor specialized in chronic wounds, a doctor specialized in the medical treatment and a doctor specialized in plastic surgeries, in addition to providing the appropriate treatments and operating surgeries for those in need.

Project's Beneficiaries Number

The Project's Beneficiaries Number reached during the year 2017 to 43 paralyzed, including 15 patients with bed ulcers, the required drugs are received through a mechanism of the organization and on the basis of the organization's available capabilities.

Project continuity

The project continues to receive patients with schizophrenia and patients with bed ulcers, and continues to provide medical services and care for the aforementioned patients.

Whereas the organization earlier visited the Undersecretary of the wounded affairs Dr. Ilan Abdul Haq to discuss the subject of the paralyzed and bed ulcer patients in general and search for the possibility of treatment and methods to prevent united to the bed ulcer disease. The project is in its second year since its opening in 2018.
